Examining Technology, Scientific Attitude, and Human Behavior: A Review
Author: Naveen Singh Rahi

Abstract
This review examines the complex interplay between technology, scientific attitude, and
human behavior in contemporary society. Drawing on interdisciplinary research from
psychology, sociology, and science and technology studies, it explores how technological
advancements shape cognitive processes, social interactions, and decision-making patterns.
The analysis highlights the role of scientific attitude—characterized by critical thinking,
skepticism, and openness to evidence—in mediating individuals’ responses to technological
change. Findings suggest that while technology can enhance problem-solving,
communication, and learning, it can also contribute to behavioral challenges such as
dependency, reduced attention spans, and the spread of misinformation. The review
emphasizes the need for cultivating a strong scientific attitude to navigate digital
environments responsibly and to promote adaptive, ethical human behavior. Overall, the paper
underscores the importance of integrating scientific literacy and reflective technology use to
support well-being and informed participation in an increasingly technological world.

A Study Analyzing Television Viewing Patterns of Professional College Students in Connection with Socio-Economic Status and Home Environment
Author: Amarjot Singh Shergill & Amit Chandhok

Abstract
This study investigates the television viewing patterns of professional college students and
examines how these patterns are influenced by their socio-economic status and home
environment. Using a descriptive and analytical approach, the research explores variations in
viewing duration, program preferences, and the purposes of television use. The analysis
reveals that socio-economic differences shape access to media resources, exposure to
diverse content, and the degree of parental or household supervision. Additionally, aspects of
the home environment—such as family communication, media regulations, and availability of
alternative activities—significantly affect students’ viewing habits. The findings highlight the
multifaceted role of social and environmental factors in shaping media consumption behavior
and underscore the importance of fostering balanced and meaningful television use among
young adults. The study provides insights relevant to educators, parents, and policymakers
aiming to promote healthier media engagement in the digital era.

Tourism on the Edge: Coping With Natural Disasters
Author: Nirmala K.D

Abstract
Tourism has evolved into a major global industry and plays a significant role in shaping
national economies through employment generation, foreign exchange earnings, and
strong multiplier effects. However, in recent years, natural disasters worldwide have
caused severe destruction, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives, widespread
property damage, and the devastation of key tourist destinations. Such events inevitably
disrupt the tourism. When a disaster occurs it has a negative impact on the tourism
industry and various destinations as a whole affecting various sectors of tourism. A
systematic approach addressing questions like how tourism businesses can react to
crisis and measures to be taken if such crises happen is discussed widely on academic
and business forums. This paper focuses on such issues pertaining to the tourism
sector at the time of crises brought about by natural disasters.
Across the world, tourism has emerged as a powerful engine of economic
transformation due to its capacity to generate employment, foster linkages with local
enterprises, and earn substantial foreign exchange. It is recognized not merely as an
activity but as a comprehensive industry that stimulates infrastructure development,
boosts domestic production, attracts foreign capital, and promotes the dissemination of
modern technology and information. Moreover, tourism contributes significantly to
environmental conservation efforts, while helping safeguard cultural heritage, ethnic
diversity, and traditional practices. As a highly interconnected sector, it integrates
transportation, accommodation, food services, retail trade, and various ancillary
industries. For many developing nations, tourism offers a strategic pathway to economic
advancement, with a number of destinations relying on it as a cornerstone of their
growth and survival.
